I feel proud of my battalion.”

The J.W. Nixon Mustang Battalion went to Rio Grande City to compete against other ROTC programs.

There were some pretty good schools out there. The competition was tough but the day was more about having fun and getting to know new people from other schools.

The environment was really friendly and fun. Rio Grande City cadets were really nice and welcoming the competitions were fun and exciting. Afterward was a meal of delicious meat.

The Mustang Battalion took three 3rd places, five 2nd places, and two 1st places.

The teams practiced really hard and I think they did well, even though we received fewer 1st places than we would have liked. We tried and it was a beautiful experience.

Our toughest competitor in my opinion would be Grulla High School. It was really good, just like every year.

Even though Grulla  got 1st place over all the Mustang Battalion is still working its way to the top and what mattered most was the professionalism that each team was showing. In my opinion this year was the best year for the Mustang Battalion.
