School board recognizes four students

Journalism/online media students Belen Silva and Brandon Gamez received school board recognition for receiving first place in the Advanced Multimedia category of the recent Association of Texas Photography Instructors’ Fall Contest. The LISD school board recognized four students at its monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Visual Arts student Claudia Serna was recognized for her win in the Region I ESC Holiday Art Contest, while fellow art student Maegan Yeary was recognized for her win in the LISD Holiday Greeting Card Contest. Their instructor is Gil Rocha.

Journalism/online media students Brandon Gamez and Belen Silva were recognized for their first place win in the Advanced Multimedia Division of the ATPI Fall Contest. Their instructor is Mark Webber.

Low brass students under the direction of music instructor John Reimund played the Star Spangled Banner and Have Yourself a Merry, Merry Christmas.
