Numerous music students earn place on TMEA Region 14 Orchestra

VMT strings students advanced to the TMEA Region 14 Orchestra during auditions held Saturday, Nov. 2.

A concert will take place at the UISD Student Activity Complex on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m.

Of special note, Josue Ortiz made concertmaster, Diana Riley won principle viola, and Eduardo Gonzalez won principle cello. See list below.

In the TMEA Region 14 Orchestra Winds and Percussion on Oct. 29, two VMT students advanced to the orchestra:

Noel Loera, principle trumpet, High Brass instructor Robert Lopez

Arturo Galvan, principle tuba, Low Brass instructor John Reimund

Also, Andrea Garcia was named orchestra. Her instructor is Dr. Mary Grace Carroll, director of Piano Studies.
