The indie pop band Sheppard includes three siblings and three non-relatives – Emma, George, and Emma Sheppard and Jay Bovino, Dean Gordon, and Michael Butler. They were formed in Brisbane in 2009, and released their debut studio album, Bombs Away, on July 11, 2014.

The Sheppard siblings were always involved in music – their dad would blast Cat Stevens in the morning and their mom would send them to piano lessons. For the Sheppard siblings, their music journey began with George singing in the shower and Amy writing songs for him to sing – that was the very first time Amy heard his voice, and they began singing songs together, later on letting the youngest, Emma, play the bass. Soon the band expanded by including guitarist and producer Jay, guitarist Dean, and drummer Michael.

Sheppard knocked down Pharrell Williams’ hit “Happy” off the Australian charts with their song “Geronimo.” “Geronimo” became an international hit after it was released – it also became a quadruple-platinum single 2014 single. Their style, as said before, is indie with a mixture of pop. Each of their songs are equally spreading positivity and inspiration to others – including myself. Their music brings some sort of comfort and I hope you listen to their songs to feel some sort of happiness.
