Okay, who doesn’t love a good supernatural love story? If you don’t, well you might change your mind when you read Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

Vampires are now considered “sexy,” but what’s so attractive about a pale skinned dude who glitters in the sunlight? For Grace Brisbane werewolves are the only supernatural thing she’s interested in.

Now Grace must find a way to save Olivia and stop Jack from hurting other people or hurting Sam. ”

— Belen Silva

When she was 11 she was attacked by wolves. Lying there on the ground covered in blood, she thought it was the end for her, until a wolf saved her. All she could remember were his yellow eyes. Since then she’d watch “her wolf” and he’d watch her.

Six years later Grace is still constant with her wolf always watching. One night Jack Culpeper is killed by wolves which lead to the townspeople of Mercy Falls to hunt them down.

Sam Roth gets shot and ends up on Grace’s back porch, a place familiar to him. Grace finds him naked and injured and brings him in the house. All she can think about is helping this poor bloody kid, but then she sees his wolfish yellow eyes.

Quickly she takes him to the hospital. In the emergency room he seems to be curing himself and realizes he has to get out of there before the doctors start asking questions.

Grace offers him her home until he can properly heal and realizes that Sam Roth is “her wolf.” A relationship starts to form, but as quickly as it started it’s about to end.

It’s almost winter time and Sam can’t stay human much longer. To make things worse, Jack Culpeper is alive and wants to be cured. He knows Grace’s reality with the wolves and kidnaps her to get the “cure.”

Grace tricks him into going into Beck’s (werewolf friend to Sam) house where he gets trapped until he finally turns human. He escapes and turns one of Grace’s friend, Olivia, into a werewolf.

Now Grace must find a way to save Olivia and stop Jack from hurting other people or hurting Sam.

This sci-fi romance will literally leave you howling for more. The ending was so unbelievable for me that I couldn’t possibly tell you how it ends. It something you’ll have to find out for yourself.
